This was not at all what I had expected, and I was pleasantly surprised by how compelling it was when I was expecting it to be a stupid college comedy. It's an awkward shoestring budget indie with some really questionable scenes and dialogue at times, but I enjoyed the ride and the performances. And the LSD sequences were pretty funny--especially the scenes with Eric Stoltz and the one with Al Franken. The film opens to credit text and Sarah Michelle Gellar's disembodied sex moans, then opens up to a multi-panel shot conveniently cropping out the details of what's going on, all while both alt rock and Bach (or Brahms--they do it with both throughout the film). I was sleep deprived while watching this, and that actually helped with immersion when Jensen was off his nut on pure Lysergic acid diethylamide. Joey Lauren Adams is always great, and the cat fight between Rebecca Gayheart and Gellar was certainly something. Part porn setup, part Dario Argento. But I repeat myself.
