While a fairly middling outing not as glorious as the first 2 nor as deliciously offbeat as some of the later ones, it does have one or two cool as moments Plus its miles better than Curse

_Amityville 3-D_ is an atrociously bad film that takes the series to a new low. After debunking a pair of psychics that have been operating out of the Amityville house, paranormal investigator John Baxter buys it and moves in with his teenage daughter, but he soon begins to experience strange phenomenon. Unlike the first two films, this one’s not based on a true story and it’s unclear how it fits into the other films; as it refers to the DeFeo family murders instead of the fictionalized version in the last film. And aside from a couple of callbacks, all the paranormal stuff is different this time (and even more ridiculous). Then of course there’s the blatantly obvious cheesy 3-D scenes. A convoluted mess, _Amityville 3-D_ doesn’t delivery any scares and seems to be throwing everything at the wall to try to get something to stick.
