Aggressively unlikable characters throughout, that somehow results in more than the sum of its parts. I have mixed feelings about this movie and it deserves a rewatch; on the one hand I hated the milieu of the film and found the whole thing despicable. On the other, there was a noirish fascination with the seediness of it all and I came away appreciating some of the ways it brought light to the darkness. Mixed bag, tough to write about it.

Very enjoyable. Some genuinely funny moments and a light atmosphere all the way through.
