One of the best things about the Movies over the past decade or so has been the resurgence of the animated film. I have gotten as much enjoyment from animated films during this time period as I have from any other genres. Great titles like "The Incredibles" "The Iron Giant" "Monsters Inc." "Bolt" and "Monsters Vs. Aliens" have made cartoons cool again. And while "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" is quite a bit of fun its characters are not as strong and its story not as interesting as those other winning toons. The voice characterizations themselves are pretty great especially Anna Faris Bruce Campbell and of all people Mr. T. The visuals were at times amazing but we've gotten used to that being the normal mode of operations these days. I guess the plot didn't really work well for me and I couldn't get myself to care much about a flood of food. The action scenes were often too manic to truly follow but it was fun to watch some of the things going on in the backgrounds of shots. I'd say that overall this was a fun move and I can recommend it to friends especially those with kids but its not one I'd likely pop in the DVD player for my own personal viewing again.

I remember seeing trailers for this and thinking it would certainly suck. Sony hadn't made (generally doesn't make) any good animated films. Usually they are really cheesy and have a blah storyline. But then, boom, I'm wrong. This one is so cheesy that it is literally falling from the sky. See what I did there? You see the movie is about food falling from the sky. This time it is cheesy in a great way though, along with a surprisingly great plot. The whole time it is just great hilarious joke after hilarious reference after hilarious joke, and just about each one is tied to the storyline directly. See this guy's face here? That might be your face of surprising enjoyment after finally watching this.

Most of the time funny, but also very weird. But with some of the best SFX I've every seen in an animation flick!

Loved watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs as a kid when it was on T.V. Though over the years my opinion on it has cooled down a bit but I like it as it holds up well from 2009. The characters are memorable and Bill Hader and Anna Faris are great on their voice role same with James Caan. Mark Mothersbaugh score is good and love the background music of his and that Sunshine song is catchy. The animation is really good and the food on the screen sometimes makes you feel hungry especially after watching the film.

Such a creative and unique movie. I love this original idea and all the cute characters in this film. Who wouldn’t want an ice cream snow day?
