This is one of Woddy Allen's lesser-known (and probably lesser-liked) movies. The movie takes place over the course of a few days and features much personal interaction and dialogue between the six main characters. A lot of people did not get the meaning behind this movie. The basis of the movie was to show how we have different meanings to different people. For example, you may have had your heart broken by one person yet in another instance you were the one that broke someone else's heart. I do not recommend this movie for people that do not find character studies in cinema to be interesting. follow me at https://IHateBadMovies.com or on facebook at IHateBadMovies
Woody Allen is a filmmaker who has eras. He started with goofy comedies, then went to romantic comedies, and for a brief moment, he made some heavy dramas. _September_ is a heavy drama. This is not a fun watch, and I would be reluctant to recommend it, even to huge fans of Allen's other work. _September_ takes place in one location, over the span of one and a half days. There are six characters, loads of dialog, and a tangled mess of unrequited-love stories. Ultimately, the beating heart of the film, the glue, is Mia Farrow as Lane. I hope she won an award for her acting in this role. Lane is the only character I can relate to within. She's suicidal, she's battling depression, and no one around her has the faintest idea of how to talk to her. Heartbreaking.
