LOVE ELVIRA. though this movie wasn’t as good as the first, i still think they need to make MORE ELVIRA MOVIES
_Elvira's Haunted Hills_ is a horror comedy; To be precise, it's a parody of Hammer horror, in particular, those based on Edgar Allen Poe works. The good news is: if you are unfamiliar with Hammer or Poe, you'll still understand what's going on. The humor here is what one would expect from an Elvira movie: cheesy and self aware - hell, there are even fourth-wall breaks! There is also plenty of cleavage, but sadly, no nudity. Can't blow that PG-13. Not really too much to say about this one. You're either on board right away or you're not. On a technical level, it's all great: the movie is leaning into its low-budget charm, so it's a feature, and not a bug. Probably goes without saying, but this is a must watch for any Elvira fan. In fact, I like it more than _Mistress of the Dark_. "Books!"
It's Elvira. Don't' think it's anything but and you're fine. Oh, this also has Richard O'Brien in it.
Kind of a fun riff on Corman's Poe cycle
An homage to the hammer horror flicks of yore, and has its moments. Elvira has her charm, but overall something just misses for me. Saw this as part of Joe Bob Briggs' Halloween drive-in special, and it was neat to hear from Cassandra herself during the little intermissions. That bumped it for me. Movie overall is a 4.8. They probably did accomplish what they set out to do, but it just wasn't entirely for me.
