Amazing horror/drama. Great Narrative, great acting, spetacular writting. ... A Master piece.

Starts off as a breakdown of a marriage and then transforms into a horror film. The surreal elements of this film feel organic in a way where I wasbt constantly questioning reality but rather lulled into accepting that this was reality. Alma emotes so well and of course the directing and cinematography was top notch. For my optimized enjoyment, I did watch the first half of this film on 2x speed, because there were moments that were super slow paced

I thought this was incomprehensible and hard to get through. Bergman is so easy to parody.

Maybe not up there with my absolute favorite Bergmans, but it's pretty great. Oozing with dread in ways that aren't always apparent at first glance. von Sydow and Ullman continue to do no wrong in my estimation; every moment just aches.
