I have never played the games - it just wasn´t my thing. I´m not much into that zombie theme but I think Resident Evil is, in the context of it´s timeframe, a well made action-horror-scifi movie.

Although not a "great movie", RE is still enjoyable if you are the type of person who can appreciate one and a half hours of horror-action without much depth!

I’ll always see these Resident Evil movies with love.

>"I don't want to be one of those things. Walking around without a soul." While it's not the best zombie movie out there, I enjoyed this more than I remembered. Maybe it's because I know what the series is like later, but I try not to let that change how I feel about movies. The intro is pretty good and the lab is a good place to have it go down, and the zombie dogs look awesome.

i forgot how much i loved resident evil. this was always one of my favorite shows growing up. i had a crazy obsession with zombies and milla jovovich was such a badass. is it great in a technical sense? no. the acting is dramatic and yet still emotionally flat. the plot is your average hero vs. undefeatable enemy. it's nothing exceptional. but it does bring back so many great memories and for that it will always be one of my favorite zombie films.
