Why did he smash the window? The back was made of cloth.
"I'm sorry... we *trespassed* on your... *fucking* territory. God! I'm *sorry*! Isn't that enough?" Maybe I went into Flatliners expecting a bit too much? Because to me it felt drawn out, the movie could've been 20 minutes shorter and I hoped that Nelson (Kiefer Sutherland) would've stayed dead. Anyway I really like the premise of Flatliners, I really enjoy the cast and it is beautifully fully shot but I can't shake the feeling that I felt bored watching it. I even fell asleep near the one-hour mark. It feels so ambitious but it never really packs the punch I think it wants to. If you enjoy the cast it might be worth a watch. Maybe I wasn't totally in the mood for it and that is why it felt so boring but I don't think I'll rewatch this one anytime soon. Such a shame, I wanted to like this so much.
Hey why ain't they killin us??... Cause we're in the spirit world asssshole..they can't see us!
I had high hopes for this movie because I love the concept of it. Sadly the movie is somewhat poorly executed and the acting is pretty bad and the dialogues are cheesy. The story is also majorly dissapointing at times. They had a few good ideas though, and the movie actually has some intense parts. But it doesn't last very long.
For a 36-year old movie, this has aged very gracefully and is still just as poignant and dramatic as it was back in the day. I know I watched this once, but it's been so many years ago that, apart from the basic premise, I didn't remember ANYTHING about it...not even the cast. But given the cast that stars in this, it's little surprise that, even after 36 years, the acting is still superb, the story itself is vivid and entertaining, and the drama involved here is still excellent. This was like watching it for the first time, and I would consider this, even after 36 years, to be an excellent film. Highly recommended if you're looking for something different and aren't afraid to go back in time a bit.
