FairPlay to James Cameron he made avatar 4 quick this time round didn’t he, sorry I just had to. Never reviewed a concert film before so this is new to me and I’ve only watched a few anyway, Olivia Rodrigo’s and Taylor swifts eras tour being the ones I can remember definitely watching would put them on here one day maybe. As for Billie Ellish I’ve always been a fan of her music but I think this was the album that made her someone who I really liked and probably is even one my favourites currently. It was cool this was just focused around the concerts and the connection between Billie and her fans she puts so much effort in than the usual artists do with there fans. Abit random I’ll admit James Cameron working on this concept concert film with Billie but proves he really can do literally anything the shots and effects were pretty dope , I found it awesome that we got to see how the staging gets set up and the parts where she went underneath the stage, also watching her talk about the way she likes the different effects and colours for each song. The conversations we got from the fans saying how much she’s inspired and helped them through difficult times was nice. I love this album so I was always going to give it a 10 just for the songs especially Birds of a feather which was my favourite song of that year I needed help for how much I binged that song, plus she sounded great live I’ll be going to se her show one day for sure now. 10/10 THIS HIT ME HARD AND SOFT SORRY IM A BAD GUY DUH.
Really good. I highly recommend seeing this in theaters or in a good home theater system with good surround sound, because what they did with the surround sound in this movie is incredible. Billie's songs are some of the best produced in current music, and I loved getting to see some of the behind the scenes stuff as well. If you're not a fan of Billie already, you will be after you watch this.
An incredibly unique experience and filming for this theater made concert movie of Billie Eilish. I thought it was gonna be more an adaption of behind the scenes like other artists have done and was disappointed that there wasn’t much of that, however get past that disappointment and realizing that this concert theater adaption was incredibly awesome. The filming of every camera angle of her show and how she interacted with the fans and the different theatrics that were set up was mesmerizing to witness. The 3-D experience definitely made it an A+. The little behind the scenes action here and there throughout the film/concert was a great addition to see a bit more of her personally, but I would have liked to see more of that.
Ok, I might sound a little snooty here, but after experiencing Metallica’s immersive concert on the Apple Vision Pro, this Dolby 3D presentation — even one produced by James Cameron — feels like a slight step down. Not many people own a Vision Pro yet, but if you know someone who does, watch one of the immersive concerts and you’ll immediately understand what I mean. Personally, I think Cameron made a questionable choice signing on to produce exclusive 3D content for Meta’s headsets when Apple’s hardware is currently the more advanced platform. Still, for most viewers who haven’t experienced high-end mixed reality, this will probably look impressive. Any 3D presentation is better than flat 2D, and there were definitely moments where the format worked well — especially a scene with confetti floating through the air. The 3D added depth to the laser effects, and even subtle details like drifting dust particles stood out in certain shots. I especially enjoyed the first-person footage Billie captured of herself and the crowd, along with the behind-the-scenes material and the shots of Billie and the crew beneath the stage. Cameron clearly wanted to emphasize Billie’s emotional connection with her fans, and while some of the repeated closeups of audience members crying felt a bit excessive, the emotional connection still came through. I do think the immersive aspect would have been stronger if the focus had stayed on Billie more consistently. When most of us go to concerts, we’re locked in on the performer, not constantly watching the people around us. Still, there’s enough energy and intimacy here to make the experience worthwhile. The best reason to see this in a theater is probably the strong Dolby Atmos mix, even if the crowd singalongs occasionally muddy the sound. Overall, this is a solid and often visually impressive concert film. It may not reach the heights of true immersive mixed reality experiences, but as a theatrical 3D event, it’s definitely worth seeing for fans or anyone interested in exploring new cinematic mediums.
