"We belong to the land, the land doesn't belong to us," says a landowner in Scotland, where by law land is for public enjoyment even if it belongs to private owners. In England, more than half of natural spaces are in the hands of 1% of the population, following a tradition from the Norman Conquest, but also connecting with colonialism and slavery. Aside from the internal debate in England, it raises an interesting reflection on the relationship between man and nature.
