Should Somalians and Sudanese hate Wizkid because he travels the world, sleep good and eat good or are y’all from the same tribe? There’s something wrong with this documentary and I can’t put my finger on it. It seems that there’s a hatred for African Americans because of what they built. There’s something very similar going on in America, white men have done far worse things than black men but it seems black women are angrier at black men than they are at white men. Femi acknowledged that his language was stripped away and replaced with English and French but he doesn’t seem to have the same venom for the colonizers the same way he has for black people who created great music. It’s downright disrespectful to say schools taught us to be musicians, teachers in America can barely teach English. Wizkid and Julie apparently didn’t do their research about Underground music, they didn’t have this so-called system. They surgically cut out 3 or 4 decades of work it took for artists to be accepted into this system. Maybe it’s young people thinking they know everything. I think I have figured it out. Nigerians may think black people are white people’s dog. Like they are nursing, feeding and dressing us as if we didn’t work hard to build hip hop. I remembered, ironically, more than twenty years ago before rap was popular, the Africans we were around and heard were calling black people lazy and were asking us why we didn’t have cars and houses. We later found out they didn’t have to pay taxes. Now, rap and hip hop is a success they’re not giving any of these artists any credit, but they have taken our style, language and swag to build themselves up.
