A great fun, comical, family film about a mermaid that gets washed to shore into a pool after a storm who ends up helping two young girls realize the strength in their friendship can outlast one of the friends moving across the world, as well as them helping the mermaid fulfill her goal. In the end as the three girls develop an everlasting bond, the film makes the viewer clearly see the moral of the story being about the importance of friendship. From beginning to end this film is funny, heartwarming, and fun to watch as the plot was well executed.

A mermaid movie I watched back in the day and loved (addicted to mermaid movies and series? guilty as charged). Pure nostalgic guilty pleasure. It's cheesy, predictable, and very much a product of its time, but there's something about mermaids and friendship stories that just works for me. The kind of movie you put on when you want to feel like a teenager again without thinking too hard. Comfort cinema for a specific mood.

Pure and cherish love between these three girls.

Charming leads keep family film afloat. Not as interesting as I would have hoped, but interesting enough to not turn away. Fairly paint by numbers as such affairs go.
