[Fantasia '25] The film presents a scenario that could almost be considered a warning rather than a dystopian one, a consideration of where a society that has normalized violence and focuses defense through more violence, rather than analyzing its origins, might be heading. At times, it can be overly expository in its approach, as if it were more interested in warning of the dangers than in presenting a scenario that is already a warning in itself. And perhaps it wasn't necessary to construct such stereotypical characters. The format and the B/W cinematography seem to represent a throwback to the past, even though we are talking about a hypothetical future, which provides a feeling of unease at the idea of repeating the mistakes made.
