Certainly relevant social commentary, but heavy handed any not very original. All right performances and execution. Ok for the Young Adult section.

This definitely had some shades of ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘The Substance’. The entire premise felt a bit dry. It never packed enough of a punch. The performances were pretty good. I did really enjoy the family dynamic. The heart was definitely there. Certain moments felt almost comical even if they weren’t meant to be. I also felt like they didn’t stick the landing in the end. Ultimately this kind of let me slightly down. I was definitely hoping for bit more from it. * AMC Crestwood 18

This body horror movie is all about self hate and cultural hate. Or is it cause how society treats other cultures? All in all it was a good movie. The ending is a bit confusing. But worth a watch. And the song from when she got put under anesthesia. Lol.
