I liked the editing, I think it is great. The script is good, but maybe the story isn't completely entertaining. I liked it, but I know I will forget it.

When a director is truly convinced of the subject matter for their film, this usually rubs off on the audience. That was certainly the case for me with “Nouvelle Vague.” Richard Linklater's love letter to the historical French cinema movement of the same name and Jean-Luc Godard's film “Breathless” at least managed to spark a certain fascination with the subject in me. Stylistically, Linklater clearly draws on the black-and-white visuals of “Breathless,” which gives the film a very fitting atmosphere. Guillaume Marbeck and Zoey Deutch are thoroughly convincing in the leading roles. Deutch manages to convey the radiance of Jean Seberg, while Marbeck masters the numerous monologues about defying all possible film conventions. However, the latter is also a certain weakness of “Nouvelle Vague.” For while it celebrates Jean-Luc Godard's contempt for cinematic conventions, the film itself is largely very traditional. This makes it much more accessible to the masses but also wastes some potential. Either way, I had a decent time with the film. It definitely helps to watch “Breathless” beforehand. Then you can appreciate Linklater's film even more.
