I watched this movie on Amazon Prime, and I feel that I was lied to by the brief description Amazon gave this movie. It said "The French Lieutenant's Woman is a hauntingly exquisite masterpiece." No, it is not. It was rather average and boring, in fact. Also, Amazon said it "is one of the most visually stunning love stories to ever grace the screen.". What a huge lie! It was not visually stunning at all. Not even close. Love story? No, it was more of a cheater story. Actually, it was two stories, and they were both about cheating and unfaithfulness in their relationships. No, my screen was not graced. It was a convoluted mess, with two stories mixed together, from different time periods, but using the same actors, leaving me confused and disoriented for the first part of the movie. They should have left out the lame 1970s filming story, that detracted from the main story. Had they just done the 1800s story only, this movie would have been much better. I guess I can't trust everything that Amazon Prime says in its movie descriptions.

Mmm... I didn't find it entertaining. It might be an interesting plot, but there is nothing in the direction that made it outstanding.
