The Big Wait is a short but soulful documentary that leaves a surprisingly lasting impression. What really stands out is the intimate, observational way it’s filmed, you feel like you're stepping into the quiet rhythm of another world. The people it follows are genuinely interesting and full of character, and the doc treats them with quiet respect and curiosity. There's something beautiful in its simplicity, it doesn't try to do too much, but it does enough. I found myself connecting with the setting in a real way; it's the kind of place I’d want to visit, the kind of life I’m glad I got a window into. It’s not a groundbreaking piece of cinema, and it doesn’t aim to be, but it doesn’t have to. For what it is, it works. And if the premise even mildly interests you, you should absolutely give it a shot. It's short, it's heartfelt, and it lingers.
