Boring, boring, boring! A dreadfully dull, and completely unnecessary, follow up to the first film. The charming songs of the original are replaced by nonsensical ballads of nothingness and the endearing relationship between Maui and Moana was squeezed for all it was worth until it broke. Please, watch Transformers One or The Wild Robot instead of this tired rehash of a modern Disney classic.

Disney should've sent Moana 2 straight to VHS.

Was expecting more because of the original but it felt like a remix of the first one. Didn't bring the same level of story and music as the first one.

This movie has all the problems of a sequel. Bad storytelling, new unnecessary caracteres that are not really needed and just wondering around, bad songs, and strangely even mediocre cgi. Loved the fist one but I was bored to dead and just wishing the movie to end.

I finally watched Moana 2, and I can only say that it was fun, and little else. Knowing that this was originally a TV series, it's impossible not to notice the little details, like that the movie takes place in 20 to 30 minute arcs (where the TV episodes probably ended with a cliffhanger), that there's something about the CGI, that they don't impress as much as in the first movie (because it was surely made with a TV series budget), that the whole team that accompanies Moana screams “generic animated series heroes”, or that the songs just work, but without anything that shines as in the soundtrack created by Lin-Manuel Miranda for the first movie. But despite all this, Moana 2 works, and fulfills its main objective: to be fun, as I genuinely enjoyed it from beginning to end, and I totally understand why it was a hit. Mind you, it's far from having anything memorable like the first one, and I really hope Disney doesn't make it a trend to recycle things for Disney Plus, to re-release it as a feature film. Just because it worked with Moana 2 doesn't mean it will work again in the future.
