Fantastic drama and superb acting. Was surprised by the number of familiar faces. Portman's Boleyn is charismatic and intensely unlikeable, her finale was amongst the best acting I've seen from her. Don't look for accurate historical details in this though, it's pure fluff.

Sex and death in an interesting night-time tele sort of way.

Anne and Henry deserved each other; both were cruel, monstrous psychos. I wish sweet Mary had never been dragged into their sick games, though… She was light whereas Anne was darkness. I don’t pity Anne for her tragic fate… She chose it for herself, after all. She betrayed her sister, forced herself onto a man she knew was bad to the bone, felt no remorse for those she hurt along the way, and turned evil in the name of ambition. It’s only too bad that George, who was innocent of it all, was punished right alongside her… And even worse, that Henry got no punishment whatsoever. I really wanted to see him suffer. Deeply. Only good thing about it all is that even after all the pain and humiliation, Mary eventually did get the happily ever after she deserved all along❤

An amazing film with stellar performances and costume design, along with a fascinating historical storyline.
