[Sheffield '24] Skillfully addresses the way in which the descendants of generations subjected to colonialism try to find historical narratives that recover hidden realities. It is interesting how some video footages subvert their meaning by removing the original voice over, propaganda of British colonialism that showed "savages" being "civilized", but now seen for what they are: Kenyans being brutalized and mistreated by the settlers. Although at times it may seem like a journey that is too summarized to fully develop its ideas, the film builds a very accurate look at the legacy, the claim for a more precise historical narrative and for territories that were taken away in the past and continue to be denied at present.
