Felt like a Hallmark sports movie. It’s an interesting story and will make suffice as background noise as you scroll on your phone. The storytelling here was lacking a bit and it did feel like it dragged a bit. For people that are really into wrestling they might enjoy this more than me.
Really enjoyed this film. It provided a strong narrative about the trials and tribulations of Mildred Burke on her rise to superstardom. The execution of the film was very well done providing suspense and drama on an apparent limited budget (so many cuts to black for a transition lol). As a wrestling fan, I was interested to see how the artistic beauty of the sport was portrayed on film along with what aspects of the “game within the game” was told as far as the psychology behind booking matches. I thought they did an excellent job at depicting the accurate history of not only Mildred’s story but wrestling as an industry beginning with the humble carnival roots to sitting in rooms debating with NWA big wigs. Great watch and inspiring story.
Not a wrestling fan but it looked like an interesting enough story. It’s a decent story though I’m guessing there’s some liberties taken with historical accuracy. Acting is pretty decent but overall it has more of a vibe of a two part tv show that would belong on Hallmark or the like.
Lost points cause it didn't stick with history and they changed the result of the Burke vs Byers fight's result.
I can't believe Felicity is so buffed!
