Danica McKellar has _A Royal Date for Christmas_ in this charming holiday romance. While visiting the US to attend several charity events, Duke Stefan Tangford’s luggage is lost, so he hires a local boutique owner to be his personal stylist and attend the events with him. McKellar gives a strong performance and is backed by a solid supporting cast. And all the sets and costumes are pretty well-done. The plot however, is formulaic and predictable. But even so, _A Royal Date for Christmas_ is a fun and entertaining film that delivers what it promises.
I normally wouldn’t seek out a movie like this to watch on my own but it was Joe’s choice for the week. Actually, who am I kidding I watch plenty of cheesy movies like this. This wasn’t horrible, it’s also not that good. It’s pretty much exactly what I’ve come to expect from a movie like this. It’s plenty predictable, with questionable acting and pretty bad dialogue. I didn’t mind sitting through it and even enjoyed some things. The lead actress was kind of bad here and she was given some really corny dialogue. The ending went from a 5 to a 10 real quick on the corny and cheesy dialogue. It’s also a pretty abrupt ending but I guess that’s what you get from something like this. Anyways, it’s definitely watchable but nothing I’ll be revisiting again. * Movie swapping with Joe
Another typical royal Christmas movie. No plot, little chemistry between the couple. The only good thing was the Christmas decoration.
