i liked how it referenced source material but it felt more like found footage, rather than an actual story

It’s very funny that people were trying to act like there is no way a 19 year old could have directed this movie when it is essentially a big budget student film.

While it creates incredible atmosphere and tension I have to admit I didn’t understand it. Due to my lack of understanding that undercuts any of the positive aspects. Would Not Recommend

Beautifully shot, amazing sound design and score. There are some great moments and Parsons does a great job building tension but the payoff isn't quite there. The story is a bit thin, and I would have loved to see a bit more expansion on some of the themes and emotional points of the film. Overall though, a good movie, and great performances from Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve. Really looking forward to what Kane Parsons does next.

I was not familiar with the concept of backrooms and i don't know how close it is to the source material, but I had a great time watching this movie, it was interesting, mysterious, tense and kept me invested and wanting more, so solid mystery movie for me. As for the horror parts, I wouldn't call it horror if I am being honest.
