Terrible experience , there was no need of this movie in the first place anyway. This movie shouldn't have been made. It spoils a little good of what first movie was. Actually the first movie was so better, i rate that 8/10, I even added it to my collection . But this very sequel ; a waste of time and effort😡. One more thing.. legendary Amit Trivedi was missing, he was the soul of the 1st film.

Absolute trash writing which makes no logical sense. [spoiler] Rishu is "absconding" and hiding from police, but is roaming all over the city in plain view, without any disguise or such. They know she's under police surveillance, and yet keep physically meeting again n again. Abhi told Rishu not to open the door for anyone but him. Yet, Rishu keeps opening the door for every knock he hears! [/spoiler] It keeps going like this. Let down.

It doubles down on the madness of the first film but loses some of its shock value along the way. The intrigue is still there, the tone remains pulpy, and the story leans hard into obsession and moral messiness, but the twists feel more calculated than surprising this time. The new dynamics add some freshness, though not always depth. The atmosphere works, the intentions are clear, but the sequel stretches the formula a bit thin. It felt repetitive and way over the top.

Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba particularly can be  criticized for its convoluted plot and lack of character development. The original had a gradual character progression which made it a hit amongst the OTT Audience which lacked here in. part 2. The sequel struggles to capture the intrigue of its predecessor, the narrative is filled with illogical twists that detract from the overall experience. While the film attempts to delve into themes of love and betrayal, it often resorts to gimmicky plot devices rather than meaningful storytelling. Taapsee Pannu's performance as Rani is described as strong, but her character lacks depth, leaving audiences questioning her motivations. Vikrant Massey, who plays Rishu, also delivers a commendable performance, adding some redeeming quality to the film. However, the supporting cast, including Sunny Kaushal, fails to make a significant impact, further weakening the film's overall effectiveness. Jimmy Shergill could have been written more better with the likes of Akshay Khanna in Dhrisyam 2 but no his character is also boiled downed with mediocrity. The screenplay messy, particularly in the second half, leading to a disjointed viewing experience. Despite some engaging moments, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba ultimately feels unnecessary and underwhelming, leaving us disappointed. Instagram @streamgenx
