Surprisingly good action flick IMHO (although I stand rather alone with my opinion ;-)).
Torque is a film that knows what it is and doesn't apologize for it. It's a popcorn flick in the truest sense, offering a visual feast of stunts and chases with a loud, energetic soundtrack. If you're looking for a film that will challenge your intellect or tug at your heartstrings, look elsewhere. But if you want to strap on a virtual helmet and enjoy a thrill ride on two wheels, Torque delivers the goods. Just be prepared to leave your expectations for Oscar-worthy dialogue and character development at the door.
I really had thought I’d seen this before but it turned out I definitely hadn’t. This just oozes early 2000s and I kind of loved that. The movie itself isn’t that great. The story is pretty weak and lacked much development. I did appreciate the somewhat stacked cast. The final act is pretty bananas. It’s a good amount of fun. The editing, especially in that last act is absolute chaos. I was happy I finally knocked this off the watchlist. It’s nothing I’ll feel the need to rewatch but it was decent enough.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that not every movie is made for every person. For example, I know that coming-of-age movies are often targeted toward teens. And then there is this movie... yikes. As many have said, this movie knows what it is and doesn't apologize for it. I don't know how Adam Scott's career managed to survive - thankfully it did. This movie is cliche wrapped up as cringe with a big bow of stupidity on the top of it. The last 10 minutes of the movie was so bad that the CGI actually looked like animation. And the women fighting on the motorcycles? Sigh... note to self, this movie wasn't made for me. follow me at https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies
Such unbelievable levels of cringe throughout you just keep watching. Fitting the closing scene has Nickelback playing.
