An 'actual event' that took place 40 years ago that affected someone 40 years before that...and now it's 40 years later and we're still not in 'the future' so what does that mean? Are we caught in a time loop? Are we destined to watch this awful movie over and over? Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, this is one awful movie. The SFX are laughably bad, the acting is even worse, and the story is utterly ridiculous...and it all shows right here in 1984 TechniColor, ladies and germs. Wow, this was just atrocious, from the opening scene. I got such a big laugh out 'the future' being 1984, with arcade games and digital (talking) clocks.... my my my, if Herdeg had only been transported to 2026, his little pea-brain would have been royally fried. This is a story about time travel that is presented as being a real event (which it is not). The movie has become a classic for fans of the story, though I find it too far fetched to be believable. Furthermore, I think that they take themselves far too seriously. Not my kind of movie.

Two marines travel back in time because of a glitch
