Emil arriving in a huge metropolitan city and immediately making 10+ friends is wild and incredibly unrealistic, but so is the whole story. Still, this is such a charmingly nostalgic film to me with great fashion. All the kids are pretty terrible actors but it seemed like they had fun, and there are some pretty iconic scenes like Pony tricking the hotel staff. A lot of outdated parts but this movie is 20+ years old so it makes sense.
