Walking away from explosions. **Mission: Impossible - Rogue Grandma** Thelma is a laugh-out-loud funny, genuinely touching dramedy about getting older (whether at 94 or 24) and balancing our need for independence with being able to accept help from others. It's also a homage to Mission Impossible. You might not expect that combination to work. Somehow, it does. I was cackling in the theater the whole time, and towards the end I suddenly found myself crying. The arguing about Waze was so real. >"This is why I don't use Waze." "The estimates are very accurate, Gail!"

I was expecting like a dumb comedy but instead I got a wholesome and super cute movie There’s something about this film that just softens the fear of growing old. The connections Thelma had with her family, friends and even people think she’s met is so precious and heartwarming. It’s rare we get see stories like this, so I found it super sweet and enjoyable to watch

Sometimes cute, often times sombre, Thelma is an emotional yet quippy look at getting old, but not getting knocked down. Some gags about not knowing how to use technology and references to Tom Cruise espionage movies can't counteract the weight of Thelma's sad, sometimes harrowing look at getting old, and that imbalance makes this a rather emotional, depressing watch.

An excellent and heartwarming comedy about old age, respect and resilience. Although at one or two points the plot slips a bit too far off for my taste, it is still an excellent and entertaining comedy with a brilliant June Squibb.
