I was really looking forward to this but this didn't meet my expectations at all. Yes, I'm ragging on a quickly filmed low budget found footager but the concept which could be great wasn't really delivered upon - be it recording spirits in the woods or having a musical focus on black metal (or DSBM as they proclaim). It is quite slow to get to the usual FF "kaboom" and spends a lot of time on the three women but I wasn't really buying their friendship nor did it feel like they behaved as one would expect a band to do being recorded. In general I felt like the whole BM angle wasn't really authentic at all and their music video was almost taking the piss if anything... Now part of their "fake" behavior could be intentional and explained by certain story beats but I don't think the script here was really all that thought out as this thing also suffers in it's pacing despite a short runtime. I mean they go to a remote cabin, only to leave for a haunted spot anyways... and then to further wander away from there to record audio and the video... (for which magically a guitar appears)... Slapped on is also an epilogue which only left me more dumbfounded. [spoiler]Why did Ruth go back? I feel like it's implied that she is inhabited by Andrea (new recording of the project and same thigh drumming as her)? Was she trying to get her body back? But then I still feel like what happened in the forest was rather random? Random psychic powers also in the mix (she knocked both of them back before but couldn't in the bus?) - well... whatever[/spoiler] Somehow this is 90% on RT and most headlines of reviews I saw were praising this... must be me!
