The concept is not bad, but everything else is Shitty directing, shitty acting, shitty casting, shitty photography... Only thing that was done well in the movie is the makeup and props, everything else is bottom of the barrel quality. A wasted opportunity in my opnion, at the FINAL SCENE the movie was so lazy that a shot was left in the movie where the camera shakes so much i got a bit nauseous, the shot was clearly meant to be a perfectly still one with no camera movement
The best part of this movie is we get to see
Martin Lawrence playing John Malkovich, playing Martin Lawrence.
Ha! I watched this with my mom not realizing I already started watching it months ago and gave up. Shows how memorable this is. But yeah, it’s bad. Martin Lawrence was god awful, the rest of the performances were just awful. Good try, interesting ending, but wow, bad writing, directing and performing.
This is one of those movies that actively increases your heart rate for all the wrong reasons. There was nothing genuinely keeping me hooked. In fact, the cast was trying to unhook me themselves. Same with the soundtrack being played every 2 minutes. This movie is a copy cat killer. Not fun, not interesting, just point blank embarrsingly annoying.
'Mindcage' is a bad one! I probably didn't dislike it as much as I should've (the ending almost made that true, granted), likely due to the actors involved, but yeah... it's poor. I do feel like there is a good idea in there, the winged creations are also pretty neat; just lamely utilised. Another positive, the only other one I have, is Melissa Roxburgh, whose performance is quite solid all the way through. I wasn't aware of Roxburgh a matter of hours ago, though her co-stars I am more than familiar with: Martin Lawrence, John Malkovich and Robert Knepper. All three named are great in other things, in this not so much. The standout is Malkovich, albeit in a role that feels rather typical. Lawrence plays it totally straight and, although it is good to see a different acting style from him, doesn't feel right; a miscast. Knepper is OK in a bit part.
