In general, a decent movie with excellent acting performances about a person whose name I know for a long time but I did not even know, that it referred to a real person. The movie does though have a number of problems that make it average at best. First of all, it is over melodramatic. Every scene is over-dramatised with single tone piano music and unrealistically dramatic dialogues. It is obvious that is was made by an overly sensitive woman, that is not in line with a general average supportable melodramatic charge. In the end, this, makes it also rather dry instead of realistic and sensitive. The technical parts of the winemaking, that are the subject of the movie, are also not really sufficiently explained, but rather unnecessarily dramatised. And then there is again this useless and pointless “making main character gay” part, that is so tiering in recent movies made by people who apparently think that most people on earth are gay. FYI, it is only 3 to 5 %, so one in every 20 to 33 person. That is far from every second person as depicted in many recent movies. Stop that crap. Do it in movies like Brokeback Mountain, where it is the subject of the story, but not uselessly just to have gay people in there. It is annoying and distracts from the story.

Visually, the film was a treat. The cinematography was stunning, and aesthetically pleasing. While the movie was generally enjoyable, some people have pointed out that it wasn't entirely accurate, missing important details and failing to capture the nuances of the real-life events it portrayed. Even with its imperfections, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It had a certain charm that made it hard not to appreciate, and I found it to be a delightful form of entertainment.

Flat and not very fizzy drama. A well-acted but boring film.
