First and foremost recognize the PG13 rating as it is well deserved and not something appropriate for under 13 year olds. This movie deals with some very powerful themes that should be taken very seriously and this movie thankfully does. The title, cover art, and look of the films films all said to me that this was going to be a so-so Superman movie that follows typical animated super hero cliches. What I got was easily the best Superman story told to date and maybe even the best story about capital punishment as well. The ending of this film I never saw coming and was deeply moved by it's message that I won't spoil here. I make a point of watching anything from DC animation and especially Bruce Timm The films EP because they always do great story telling. This is among their best work ever and a must watch for any fan of Superman, or DC Animation. I plan to watch this with my son when he's old enough and then discuss the films themes. Hopefully others will do the same.

A very good movie

>"The world needs people in charge, willing to put the animals down." First half of this story made me think I was about to watch the worst animated Superman movie. The second half proved how wrong I was. Superman is actually cool in this.

Following my middling experience with Superman (2025), I thought I’d take it upon myself to seek out other media that shows Big Blue in his best light. I’d heard rumblings online that Warner Bros. animated offerings were surprisingly good and easily outclassed DC’s live action forays for many years, if not decades. A Reddit thread or two later and I land on Superman vs the Elite, a distillation of everything Superman stands for, juxtaposed against the modern world that he can often feel out of place against. As an 80 minute concentrated thesis on the character this really does shine, and asks some interesting questions about Supes’ morals and ethics when pitted against a world that feels like it’s moved on from him. If, like me, you’re on the fringes of Superman and want a quick bumper course on the character, Superman vs the Elite is a brilliant short that’ll quickly get you up to speed without filler and with some interesting questions to muse on once justice has been served and the credits roll.

From Warner Brothers Animation comes the new and exciting comic book film _Superman vs. The Elite_. When a group of super-powerful humans calling themselves The Elite deal out vigilante justice against the evil doers of the world (winning the support of the public in the process), Superman starts to question whether or not his methods have become antiquated. The voice cast does a fair job and the animation style is pretty good (but nothing special). However, the themes of the story are handled well, and present an interesting dichotomy. Still, the plot is predictable and formulaic, and doesn’t really bring any new perspective to Superman. Yet while it has failings, _Superman vs. The Elite_ delivers all the action and adventure that one has come to expect from these types of animated films.
