Il y a des années, la soudaine apparition des Gadolls, une forme de vie inconnue, a bien failli conduire à l'extinction du genre humain. Pour se protéger de la menace, les survivants ont trouvé refuge dans la forteresse mobile Deca-Dence, haute de 3 000 mètres. Deux sortes d'habitants existent : les Gears, des guerriers luttant nuit et jour contre les Gadolls, et les Tankers, des humains sans capacité à combattre. Natsume est une jeune Tanker qui entretient le rêve de devenir une Gear. Un jour, elle rencontre Kaburagi, un réparateur froid et brusque.

Best anime fall season 2020
Keeping the cyborg's animation aside, it was a great anime. Story was good and simple with nothing extraordinary. Action scenes were a bit underwhelming though but that gave this anime a "Slice of Life-y" feel. I certainly felt like dropping the anime after the first few episodes but I'm glad that I didn't.
This show was unique all around. Great characters, satisfying play on the "fight the man" story, incredible soundtrack, refreshing post apocalyptic setting and above all, cohesive. Very much recommended to anyone who wants a good action show. Deserves all the praise with other original anime such as Gurren Lagann and Code Geass.
What an amazing anime. This is a fast-paced anime done right. I never watched an anime I loved so much that I want a second season, but I know it doesn't need it. The ending made me sad and happy.
