I think it's interesting that The Rookie is very interested in the police emotional response. Nevermind that we've seen plenty of evidence that law enforcement sleeps like a baby if they kill someone. Heck if they're not it's usually because they're getting their rocks off with their wives on the one night they're not beating them. But that aside the show is utterly unconcerned that the response to an industrial leak that turned people into zombies is just going to be covered up. It's going to be buried so hard that our honorable police officers can't stand the fact that the families are functionally not going to find out. They SHOT an innocent person and they just aren't bothering to tell the families anything about it. This of course is an emotional toll FOR THE OFFICER. Even Tim frames this situation as thankful because Lucy isn't dead. Bro but the innocent man IS dead. Their family IS picking out a casket. For a 'progressive' show they're completely uninterested the victim's right to know what happened. Even at the end of the episode the sister's first words aren't anything about finding out what happened and why her brother is dead. It's about the legal implications. "I thought you weren't supposed to talk to me". Trust me if I die my sister's first words to the officer who call her to explain aren't going to be "Am I allowed to hear this?" She says it'll be a YEAR to get ANY information out? WHY????!?! In this mythical situation where even under a zombie attack only one person gets killed. No one is interested in holding ANYONE responsible? Clearly not the cops. Even I concur in this situation it's not the police that caused the death but whomever was responsible for the gas that zombified everyone and NOONE is looking for that. It's not even part of the storyline. We don't have our plucky detectives looking for the persons responsible. Instead they're trying to round up twin serial killers. A plotline so ridiculous I struggle with whether this is more or less silly than the zombies. And yes I've been watching this show for 8 years now so it's not like I'm shocked at this and ignored the last 3 years of tomfoolery.

I like Nyla and Harpers characters. But Lucy is getting really annoying this season. It seems her arc is that she can talk down to her supervisors and do no wrong. First the whole Grey scene in the Baja episode. It had the sink of "you can do better" from Captain America series. now this episode.

_"Do not push yourself to failure."_ This was a really messy episode; Smitty as
interim watch commander, freaking Skip Tracer Randy, Zuzu
and what not. 😒
