I just absolutely, completely loved this! I started watching this with very low expectations and I think I've always been put off by the title "war and peace" to be honest. It makes it sound so flat and boring but this really was anything but boring! Great story, great acting, great characters, great everything. I'm off to read the book now because I have to have more of this.
First episode was a little slow and confusing, there's a lot of characters and setting up the plot, should be easier for someone familiar with the work. After each episode it just keeps getting better, after the show completes I would have to rate the entirety very high. It comes full circle and covers all types of aspects of love, betrayel, and war. Top notch acting by the entire cast and some of the most beautiful shots. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a deep show and willing to push past the first episode.
Un-be-lie-va-bly boooooring. Bridgerton from Russia. Give it some credit for costumes.
Not into love triangles or relationship drama.
Brilliant acting, brilliant image, brilliant sound. It is amazing how much love was put into this show by everyone who was working on it! Usually movies and shows about Russia are full of idiotic cliches; even the recent Chernobyl could not resist the temptation and added a few ones. But this War&Peace show is the excellent exception! It is the real masterpiece and the best film adaptation of the book so far.
