Les progrès scientifiques nous ont permis de vivre mieux et plus longtemps que jamais auparavant, mais il y a ceux qui exploitent les nouvelles technologies pour causer de grands dégâts. Ian Hood, un ancien professeur de physique, a été recruté par le gouvernement pour résoudre les problèmes de catastrophes humaines et le potentiel des tragédies causées par la science moderne. Un sens aigu de la perception et une grande soif de connaissances font de lui une arme dans la lutte pour la bonne science.

British series that want to be more SCIENCE than FICTION and tell mysterious stories in a kind-of "X-Files" style. Patrick Stewart plays the lead convincingly, but the female "bodyguard" written into this series as a skeptic and possible love interest is not that interesting and it would have been more fun to see Stewart leading the show alone with only the guests helping out. It only lasted one season so it never got the chance to show what it was made of, but it did inspire an American short-lived remake.
This should have got much greater appreciation, especially from fans of Black Mirror, Utopia and the ilk. Great production quality Patrick Stewart and Ashley Jensen as leads, a good story line, a little edgy at times, lightened by bits of humour (like when the awesomely intelligent Professor struggles to connect to the hotel wifi). This is quality British TV without any of the stodginess of the BBC period dramas. Shame it was only 4 episodes long. And much better than the subsequent US remake.
