Des recoins les plus profonds de l'Afrique au plus haut sommet du Tibet, Jonathan Chase a étudié pendant de longues années les mystères indicibles de la Nature et les liens entre les animaux et l'Homme. Détenteur d'un secret ancestral, il est désormais capable de se transformer en n'importe quel animal. Professeur à l'Université de New York, il aide également la police dans ses enquêtes. En compagnie de Ty, un ancien camarade de l'armée, et Brooke, une séduisante policière, Jonathan "Manimal" Chase combat le crime.

It's hard to think TV was ever like this...no special effects, weak stories, naff scripts, rubbish acting, terrible music...yes, Manimal hasn't dated well... The lead man is like an British / American Magnum PI - complete with a Ferrari - and the ability to turn into an animal (but never a cool animal like a wombat or a lizard - although there is the possibility he turned into a shark in one episode). But it was awesome to watch, and if you get a chance to, try watching at least a couple of episodes (they are all pretty much the same anyway). And interestingly, it has a strong female lead character that is feminine, and not portrayed patronisingly (that feels a little progressive even today..).
