I thought it was a complete dud. One of those cases where you do not just fail to get into the story, but keep wondering how much time is left before it ends. I was not interested in the way the case was told or in how it tried to pace the information, and in a true crime series that is almost fatal. The big problem is that it never makes you care about anyone. Not the victim, not the people around her, not the investigation, not even the killer as a documentary subject feels strong enough to carry the whole thing. It is all told in such a flat way, with no pulse, no real tension, and no real point of view that justifies why this story needed to become a miniseries. And then there is him, of course: that toothless guy, turned almost into the central presence of a documentary that has no idea what to do with him. Instead of creating unease or fascination, he just becomes exhausting. He appears too much, weighs down the whole thing too much, and is handled so clumsily that rather than strengthening the documentary he drags it further down. I also disliked the overall tone. It does not feel especially deep, revealing, or skillful in the way it builds suspense. It just keeps moving as if on autopilot, trusting that the mere fact of dealing with a crime should be enough to keep you watching. But it is not. There is no atmosphere here, no narrative force, and no real ability to hook you. The worst thing is that it does not even give me that morbid curiosity that sometimes saves weak documentaries. Instead of leaving you shaken or thoughtful, it leaves you with the feeling of having sat through a major slog. You end up more focused on finishing it than on understanding anything, and that says it all. Overall, I did not like it at all. I honestly do not understand why some people rate it positively, because to me it felt like a clumsy, boring miniseries with no hook whatsoever. A true crime story that generates neither interest, nor impact, nor emotion.

La manera en la que policía y los investigadores se burlaron de esta familia es increíble… Te abre los ojos para darte cuenta de cómo funciona la justicia en España.
