Rud, un aventurier de rang E marginalisé à cause de son unique capacité d'immunité contre les altérations d'état, lutte pour trouver sa place dans un monde où seules les compétences de combat sont valorisées. Rejeté par les autres, il erre seul jusqu'au jour où, au bord de la mort, il enfreint le tabou ultime : il mange des monstres pour survivre. Bien que cette pratique soit censée transformer un homme en monstre en raison de l'essence maléfique absorbée, Rud échappe à ce sort grâce à son immunité. À la place, il découvre un pouvoir unique : celui d'acquérir les compétences des monstres qu'il consomme.

I saw the mediocre rating and no comments and gave it a try.... But you shoudn't, or should. But I'll try to save you from trying. I was merely 6 min in and I had to stop. (...and I sat through The Beginning After the End S1 with no complains) First of all this is not an "anime", the way I look at it is more like a voiced Webtoon in a PowerPoint presentation. I'm not here to judge the animation budget or whatever, I don't watch anime because they look good, it is a ==PLUS== for me. But it must be at least acceptable. Monster Eater is animated like Wallpaper Engine animates things, slightly distorting them so it looks like a character is breathing etc. The characters are in a layer different than the background, and only the characters are "animated". Do you know those anime/webtoon/mangas sumaries on Youtube? But imagine that they took a step forward and tried to give movement to a still image. I've never seen a monstrosity like this been called anime. If you doesn't bother with this, maybe there is a good story behind it, I'm not going to watch it to confirm it. TL;TR: Monster Eater's animation _style_ is stiff like a webtoon. So stiff that makes One Punch Man S3 looks like Sousou no Frieren/Solo Leveling/Sentenced to be a Hero/etc.
Undoubtedly the worst artwork and animation I've EVER seen in a modern anime. I'm a bit pissed because I was hyped about the premise..
