Honestly, would have just preferred 6 episodes of Ventress

Listen I love Cad Bane, but I don’t really think his episodes, bar the first, were all that good. Interesting sure, but definitely could have gone without. However the Ventress story was genuinely great

Although at first glance it might seem like just another entry in the expanded Star Wars universe, Tales of the Underworld turns out to be quite an interesting offering. It dives into the shadows of the galaxy and brings two classic Clone Wars villains back into the spotlight, giving them some well-deserved depth. It doesn’t break new ground, but it does offer narrative fragments that enrich the larger picture. Cad Bane’s arc, in particular, stands out. You can tell there’s an effort to explore the motivations and moral codes behind his ruthless image. The animation is solid, with the same recognizable style seen in The Bad Batch or Tales of the Jedi, but with a slightly darker, almost noir tone. Some of the stories do feel too short or predictable. Certain decisions could’ve used more development, and some scenes needed more room to breathe. Still, the overall feeling is of something purposeful, respectful of the lore, and filled with moments where the galaxy’s underbelly becomes the perfect excuse to explore moral ambiguity. This isn't a series for everyone. It lacks the emotional core of Rebels or the dramatic weight of Andor, but it knows what it wants to say and stays on course. Plus, veteran fans will find plenty of rewarding nods and connections. Not a masterpiece, but it leaves a good impression and subtly expands Star Wars’ grayer corners. For those curious about life beyond the Republic and the Empire, these tales are a worthy detour.

The "Tales Of" series are meant to be quick and emotional Star Wars stories. This was pure entertainment from Filoni. I guess people just hate 15m episodes.

For what it was, it's decent enough, but it just feels so lacking. The stories told weren't necessary, just nice bonuses. And honestly I am far more attached to Ventress than Cad Bane but Bane's episodes were far more interesting. Tales of the Jedi is still the best of the anthologies but none of them have lived up to their full potential.
