I'm starting to realize that I'm a sucker for a good ending. This is the second show in a row that has elevated my overall impression of it, with a strong finale. This show is primarily a slice of life and magic theory exploration show. I typically enjoy my magic alongside some adventuring, so this didn't really have the strongest chance at a high rating from me, simply because it didn't fit into what I'm looking for in terms of enjoyment. The magic in the show is handled wonderfully, the MC is inquisitive and his thirst for knowledge is contagious. If you are a fan of slice of life shows, and enjoy magical elements, this has got to be a top-tier show for you. The show steadily rose from a 6 to a 7, and then finally to an 8, with a very strong final two episodes, for me. The artwork is well above average, and the animation is slightly above average. The MC is confident, self-assured, and obsessed with obtaining magic in his new world. One of the standout moments for me, had to be how his sister Marie was handled. Without giving any spoilers, Marie was put through something that is quite typical in these kinds of shows, but the way it was depicted in the last two episodes was so out of the norm for this type of show, that it really hit home for me. Her change from
such a confident, strong, & outspoken character to what she became in those final episodes
truly pulled at my heart strings...it was so wonderfully executed. Tons of open storylines and unresolved plot points, I better get a season 2 of this show.
