Wowsers Wowsers Wowsers Wowsers Wow
I've never watched the Dallas Cowboys or knew what DCC stood for until I watched this show. It really gives more perspective into what it means to be working part-time as DCC because it's no easy task. All the women are inspiring for how hard they work, how talented they are, how much they love what they do, and how graciously they carry themselves. The show is not focused on bringing drama but showing the effort it takes to perfect their routines and how they support each other in difficult times. Absolutely inspiring. The show is filmed a bit like a documentary as each season begins with the auditions and follows the team through training camp until they can cut to the final team of 36. The last few episodes show their performance and ends with the conversation on who is planning on reauditioning in the future. It might sound repetitive, but I've been surprised at how they've been able to focus in on different themes throughout the seasons because of how much changes every year. The mix of rookies and veterans keeps things fresh and familiar at the same time. I've also enjoyed seeing the relationship between the DCC and Kelli and Judy over time. It's a professional environment and they need to know how to speak up for themselves and voice their opinion (especially for returning veterans who become group leaders). They've definitely changed the culture over the years to be one that's more supportive and sustainable for the girls as much as they can. I really like how well spoken the girls are about what they need and how they're feeling to each other and to leadership. Those are really important communications skills to have. Since DCC is an experience like no other, it's cool to see what a supportive sisterhood looks like through their eyes. The popularity of the show has also changed the culture over time. Season 3 in particular is a reminder of how cruel social media can be and important it is to ground yourself with people who can support and understand you. Some of my favorite DCC'ers: -Kelcey's leadership in the first season helped set a positive impression for the following seasons -Armani for sharing her story and experience with alopecia -Savannah's enthusiasm and determinism for cheer -Kleine's development to be a great team leader and the development of her relationship with Kelli. -Megan's leadership throughout the pay raise and social media seasons
