The first episode was fun, fast paced and easy to watch. It's a light hearted romp and doesn't pretend or try to be otherwise. Racists, bigots and misogynists will definitely not enjoy.
Poor old Holmes would turn over in his grave if he had one. The “mysteries” are definitely not as clever as they should be. Feels like target audience is teenage girls. Sherlock and his daughter got on my nerves pretty quickly after a couple of episodes. Production is mediocre with cheap looking sets and pretty lame costumes and period elements. Barely passable as background TV. Also watching on CW with the same lame commercials looping over and over is torture.
I am wondering how they would explain Sherlock having physical relations with that girl's mother so that he could be her father. He's very prickly and doesn't seem to like people. Maybe they are hoping to get cancelled before they have to explain it. I didn't like how the first episode didn't end with a case being solved. Seems like they want to drag things out. That made me want to stop watching. I can't imagine taking a season to solve one case. That's not interesting.
cromulent for a background-watch holmes show. thewlis is solid; blu hunt isn't as charming as millie bobby brown in the enola holmeses, but also has less to work with despite having a potentially much more interesting character. the mysteries are not very mysterious, which
isn't excused by the reveal that holmes was being set up to solve them given that both he and amelia are genuinely stumped by all of them at some point or another
, and they also sometimes shift to non-protag POV for scenes that make it even easier for the viewer to figure out some of the twists.
