Finally got through it…As much as I wanted to enjoy it and try to embrace cringe humor, it was quite the slog. No real plot and just real slow

I wish Felix and Polly ended up together. This was the worst show I've seen in a while but I couldn't stop watching because Will Sharpe is so damn captivating, even with a script this weak. Hopefully he gets better projects than this going forward. I always want to support the girlies but Megan Stalter cannot act. She's the worst part of Hacks and making her the central character here was a decision I can't even begin to fathom. I would have a hard time feeling much for a character so immature and self absorbed regardless as it's been done to death at this point, but with the right actress maybe it could've worked. Stalter is not that girl. Spoilers ahead I also feel extremely gross about them giving Felix a backstory where he is sexually abused by an older woman, and then show a scene of him being essentially coerced into sex by an older woman when he's too high and drunk to consent and then categorize that as "cheating." Never did the show acknowledge the how fucked up this was for Felix and instead turns it into a running joke where Felix keeps insisting that she's old but still really hot, insinuating that he was into it even though in the scene he clearly tried to avoid it and tells her he feels dizzy and needs to stop. Given Dunham's weird history with sexual abuse and the questionable ways she depicts sex in her shows, this is hardly surprising. It feels very strongly like Felix's sexual abuse was just a lazy way to add depth to his character, rather than be taken seriously in any way. It's fucking gross, is what I'm saying.

The problem with Too Much is that it has all of the unlikeable character tropes of Lena Dunham's show Girls, but Girls was actually hilariously funny at times. Too Much is rarely funny at all, so you're just left with characters that love the sound of their own voice too much. And even as a gay man who is well aware of the pitfalls of London gay culture, I have to say the office colleague character Boss is one of the worst portrayals of a gay man I've seen in a long time.

Such a bad show. Bad writing, bad acting, unfunny jokes, modern clichés, no plot line, zero depth of the characters, omg… and the main character is so annoying.

are thirtysomethings really like this? I need to watch a movie from 1945 now as a palate cleanser
