The problem is not only that it can never be taken seriously as a medical drama, but that it misses the opportunity to offer a deeper insight into the problems and threats of a public health system. By limiting it to an ideological confrontation, when the protests of health workers are usually transversal, it simplifies the problem. But it also addresses issues such as addictions and mental health, the burn-out syndrome, with superficiality. While the characters are only defined by their romantic relationships, closer to a youth drama about love than to a truly efficient medical drama.
Good as a Drama about medical personel but the whole Patricia problem was after a while so annoying I was skipping scenes a lot.
I found the pacing of the series very good. It's the first time I've dedicated myself to watching a series focused on 'hospital dramas.' I like how the characters aren't just good or villains, but move between good attitudes and more questionable ones. I hope that, if renewed, the series can bring a bit more political discussion about the deterioration of public healthcare and that the characters have more layers of development.
I liked it a lot more than I could have imagined for a Spanish series and on Netflix. But it has an exquisite rhythm, good characters, although the weakest part is the plots. I want to know what happened in the second season and I think it will become one of the best series I have seen this year.
