David Jung, un mystérieux ancien agent des services secrets américains vit caché en Corée du Sud. I enjoyed it then most of the other stuff out there
Not the best acting, and the story isn't half as clever as they want it to be, but in the end... it's a decent enough action affair. Not worth subbing to Prime Video for alone, but if you've already done so... you might as well give this a shot.
Mostly entertaining, but the characters never truly feel authentic. Lots of low effort plot developments that feel overly staged and contrived instead of feeling organic. It ends up feeling like a six episode summer popcorn movie instead of a gritty nail biter it's striving to be. The story has great bones, but ultimately underachieves trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Still not mad it at though. Just disappointed they couldn't maximize the decent story and charismatic characters. [spoiler]The ending really left a bad taste in my mouth. It's like the writers room was empty and they just "phoned it in" on a zoom call. Not sure who they are trying to fool[/spoiler]
Season 1 of Butterfly was a blast. Six tight episodes, under five hours, super bingeable. The ending was solid… until the last couple minutes, which felt like a rushed setup for Season 2. Honestly, that cheapened what could’ve been a perfectly wrapped-up one-season story. My guess? Season 2 will just rinse and repeat until people lose interest and it gets cancelled instead of ending on its own terms. Hope I’m wrong, though.
