I just finished the first 3 episodes and this is unmistakably a Taylor Sheridan show. Only he can write a Western-themed story that commands you to stare at the screen it’s playing on and forget every other screen around you. What an absolute champion. Right from the start, we’re treated to those sweeping landscapes that make you yearn for country life. Then come the strong female protagonists who are feminine to the core, yet still carry undeniable main-character energy. Unlike Yellowstone and Landman, though, the characters here feel more grounded. The central story arc grows out of a tragedy, which gives the whole narrative a weight that pulls you in straight away. If you’re deciding whether to watch The Marshals or The Madison, and you consider yourself a Taylor Sheridan fan, my bet is that this one will be a very satisfying watch. Onwards and upwards! :cowboy:
Hooked say no more another Sheridan master piece
I love Taylor Sheridan's work but I was so disappointed with The Madison. It started well in episode 1 but for me it went downhill after that with the characters being very dislikable and the storyline being dreary and depressing without any lightness for balance. I watched it all hoping it would improve but it didn't and so I sadly can't recommend it.
The man enlightens the "ignorant, materialistic, and spoiled" woman about the ancestral origins of the male's connection to nature. "It's scientifically proven. Men hunted and women gathered in prehistory." In reality, the opposite is scientifically proven: women also hunted in the Neolithic period, but that doesn't fit into Taylor Sheridan's white, male-centric narrative.
