Why does this show have such a high rating? It’s not good at all. Are the high ratings coming from viewers completely new to Dexter’s story? I loved the original series so much, but this one feels like a joke. Almost all the characters are overly goofy and bear little resemblance to their original counterparts. Patrick Gibson as Dexter is fine, but I think he’s overacting. This version of Dexter is too cocky, whereas the original was quieter and more unassuming—a crucial part of his charm. I feel like they dropped the ball on the main character’s portrayal. The squad members are hit or miss, and they don’t seem to have much significance to the story—at least not yet. My biggest disappointment is Debra. She was, hands down, my favorite character in the original series (and one of my all-time favorites). But in this version? Look how they massacred my girl! (insert Godfather meme). She’s completely insufferable, and I can’t find better words to describe this abomination of a character. The plot has potential. Developing an origin story is interesting, especially since we only got bits and pieces of it in the original show. But the execution here is just plain bad. For me, this is yet another disappointment—a failed attempt to bring back a beloved TV series.
Who are the Morons that decided to Cancel Original Sin??! Okay we all weren't sure how this would turn out.... But Damn, every cast member, and the story was a hit... It was quite amazing actually. Turn this stupidity around and give us this promising series the second season it was green lit for. Damn it!
I expected little, yet another dexter story. But it is surprisingly good, like, really good
This was spot on! A fucking 10/10. Fuck Showtime and MOTHERFUCKER Paramount for fucking cancelling this.
Not bad, catches the feel of the original dexter! Kind of dark and humorous. Good casting, except for Deborah Morgan actress but that's because I can tell when one person is 5'10 and the other is 5'2.
