This documentary, through substantial audio and video footage taken by the abuser, shows one of the most horrifying and persistent cases of gaslighting. Equally as scary is seeing the effects of over 10 years of manipulation play out in real time as the producers interview the victims in the period following Ray's arrest. Watching them confused, overwhelmed, and trying to grasp what really happened is incredibly difficult viewing. I hope everyone involved is getting the therapy and healing that they need.
[Disney+] Starting from an interesting topic about a man's ability to manipulate a handful of young students, the documentary is built in series forma, but it could have been more effective as a documentary film. So extended in the first two episodes that it is particularly boring, and too manipulative in the Episode 3, in the different treatment of the repentant victim (Felicia) and the brainwashed victim (Isabella). Particularly in the use of sound files and the images that accompany them, which direct the positioning of the viewer. A more objective treatment would have been appropriate.
